About the position
As our DevOps and SRE you will create the automated environment to support our rapidly expanding edge, fog and cloud systems to support our distributed automation and swarming technology. You love measuring the process and reporting it. You believe that systems operation is a software problem. You are either a software engineer with a good IT administration background or a highly skilled system administrator with knowledge of coding and automation. You will spend maximum 50% of your time on ‘ops’ related work (and try lowering that with automation) and >50% on developing the next level of automation, self-healing and scaling infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain self-service tools to streamline the software development process, such as automatic provisioning of test environments, automated testing, and releasing pipelines.
Collaborate closely with project managers and product engineers to design solutions that meet requirements for availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Implement and manage automated solutions for operational aspects like monitoring, performance and capacity planning, and disaster response.
Balance system reliability with rapid innovation, ensuring efficient service operations without compromising on quality.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging proactive behavior and aligning team goals with organizational objectives.
Experience & skills
Bachelor's degree in Software Development, IT, or equivalent experience.
Strong DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset with a focus on automation.
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or C++.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or oVirt.
Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, and/or Ansible.
Familiarity with network protocols, security, and firewalls.
Experience working in Linux environments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster psychological safety and open dialogue.
Strong problem-solving skills, intelligence, and initiative.
Eagerness to learn and continuously develop professionally.
